Today we are doing something a little different: a look at some of the hotel bookings we worked on for clients this week.

Instead of talking about one destination or one hotel deal, I wanted to show you the kind of work we do behind the scenes. These are actual hotels we booked this week, with real rates, real preferred partner benefits, and real decision-making involved.

The point is not just "here is a nice hotel." The point is to show how the right booking channel can change the value of a stay. Usually, that means breakfast is included, a hotel credit, a free night, or upgrade priority. Sometimes it just means knowing which hotel makes the most sense for the trip.

Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River is one of the best luxury city hotels in Asia, but it does not feel like a typical city hotel. It sits right on the river with a much more urban resort feeling: spacious grounds, beautiful pools, strong dining, polished service, and a calmer atmosphere than you usually find in central Bangkok.

Budapest is one of my favorite cities in Eastern Europe. Beautiful architecture, thermal baths, great restaurants, the Danube, and an elegant old-world feel. It is also one of those European cities where luxury hotels can still feel more reasonable than in London, Paris, or Amsterdam.

The St. Regis Budapest is a brand-new opening, located inside the historic Klotild Palace. New luxury hotels in historic European buildings can be extraordinary when done well, because you get the character of the building with the comfort of a modern hotel.

For anyone planning a Europe trip and wanting something special, Budapest is a city worth keeping in mind.

A completely different style of Bangkok hotel from Four Seasons.

Four Seasons Bangkok is riverside, resort-like, and calmer. Park Hyatt Bangkok is sleek, modern, and incredibly convenient. It sits above Central Embassy, one of Bangkok's best luxury malls, with easy access to shopping, dining, and the BTS Skytrain.

Nightly rates go from around $385 to $540 per night.

That is very impressive for a Park Hyatt. Through Hyatt Privé, the stay includes:

Bangkok is one of the best luxury hotel cities in the world for value. You can stay at a true luxury property with great benefits for a price that would barely get you a standard room in many Western cities.

Singapore is usually expensive, so when we find a good rate there it stands out.

Andaz Singapore is a modern Hyatt property in DUO Tower near Bugis. It has strong city views, a good location for exploring different parts of the city, and a more lifestyle-oriented feel than some of Singapore's traditional luxury hotels.

Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur is right by the Petronas Twin Towers and KLCC Park, which is about as central as it gets in the city. A classic luxury hotel with a prime location, great service, and very attractive pricing compared to other major cities.

Kuala Lumpur is one of the best cities in the world for luxury hotel value, and this booking is a perfect example of that.

This is widely considered one of the finest hotels in Korea. Four Seasons Seoul is near Gwanghwamun, which works very well for first-time visitors who want easy access to palaces, museums, restaurants, and some of the more classic parts of the city.

Seoul is a city that more travelers should be considering, especially if they already love Japan, Hong Kong, or Singapore. Four Seasons is one of the more polished ways to experience it.

InterContinental The Clement Monterey is located on Cannery Row, close to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and works beautifully for travelers who want ocean views, a relaxed setting, and a classic California coast experience.

We found nightly rates ranging from around $760 to $1,065 per night for a King Classic Fireplace Room.

Geneva is never cheap, so this is not a destination where I expect bargain pricing. But it is exactly the kind of city where preferred partner benefits can add real value.
