Hey {{first name | reader}},
Happy Friday!
Hi from the part of my brain that believes every trip should be built like a puzzle.
Sometimes the best itinerary is not all points or all cash. Sometimes it is one paid business class fare, one award ticket in the other direction, a positioning flight, a transfer bonus, and a suspicious amount of coffee while comparing six browser tabs.
Today's edition is exactly that: two mileage sales that can make sense with a plan, and one cash fare that reminded me why flexibility beats loyalty to one single strategy.
Here's what's inside today's post:
Aeroplan points are on sale, and this is where they can shine
Flying Blue is also selling miles, but the math needs discipline
Deal of the day: Saudia business class from Singapore to Europe for around $1,000
Aeroplan points are on sale, and this is where they can shine
Air Canada Aeroplan is selling points with up to a 90% bonus through May 31. At the highest bonus level, the cost comes out to roughly $14.40 per 1,000 points.
That is not the cheapest sale we have seen, but it can absolutely make sense if you have found award space and know how you want to use the points.
What I like most about Aeroplan is long-haul premium cabin travel, especially because the program has access to a very wide set of airline partners. The most interesting redemptions are often on airlines like Lufthansa, Singapore Airlines, SWISS, and EVA Air.
A few use cases I would be looking for:
Lufthansa First Class One of the classic aspirational redemptions. A proper First Class product, a great ground experience in Frankfurt or Munich, and that very specific feeling of "yes, this is why I use points." The catch is availability, since it has become much harder to find. Lufthansa First is often released close to departure, so it is not ideal if you need to lock in a trip months in advance.
EVA Business Class You can find some availability if you are very flexible, and end up flying 13 hours on what I think is one of the top business class experiences out there, for super cheap!
Singapore Airlines Business Class Possibly my favorite use of Aeroplan points when space appears. The onboard product is polished, the service is usually fantastic, and it is one of the better ways to turn a points balance into a premium long-haul experience.
Long-haul business class to Europe, Asia, or the Middle East Aeroplan uses distance and region-based award pricing, and its published chart still has attractive premium cabin pricing in many bands. Within the Atlantic zone, for example, partner business class starts at 60,000 points one-way for 4,001 to 6,000 miles flown.
One thing to keep in mind: Aeroplan partner award prices are changing for bookings made from June 1, 2026. So timing matters more than usual. If you have been sitting on a redemption you want to make, the window to book at current pricing is closing.
Flying Blue is also selling miles, but the math needs discipline

My latest Air France flight
Flying Blue, the loyalty program of Air France and KLM, is selling miles with up to an 80% bonus through May 31. At the maximum tier, the price comes to about $16.90 per 1,000 miles.
A 100% bonus has been consistently offered before, and it has been a while since we saw that last. But Flying Blue can still be very useful because the program often has good award availability.
The cleanest example is business class to Europe. Flying Blue's starting price is often around 60,000 miles one-way from North America, and around 86,000 miles from South America or Asia. Promo Rewards can sometimes discount certain routes further.
At this sale price, buying 60,000 miles would cost around $1,014, before taxes and fees. If the cash fare is $3,000, $4,000, or $5,000, that math can work very well.
Where I would use Flying Blue:
Air France or KLM business class to Europe The obvious one. If you find space, you can fly to Paris, Amsterdam, or beyond, and the math can work nicely on both airlines.
Promo Rewards As you know, because I always share them on the first post of every month, Flying Blue publishes monthly Promo Rewards that can reduce the mileage price on select routes. Worth checking whether anything useful is in the current batch.
Deal of the day: Saudia business class from Singapore to Europe for around $1,000

Saudia A321XLR new business class
Singapore to Vienna in Saudia business class for about $1,048 one-way, with one stop in Jeddah. That is already a very good price for a one-way business class ticket from Asia to Europe.
But the interesting part is the aircraft.
Saudia has been rolling out a more premium narrow-body strategy, including Airbus A321XLR aircraft with fully flat business class seats and direct aisle access. The product is the Thompson VantageSOLO seat, which is a proper flat-bed business class seat for a single-aisle aircraft. This is the same product you would find on Etihad's A321XLR business class. A lot of narrow-body business class flights feel like economy with better food. This is not that.
Some days are showing “individual suite” on Google Flights for the second leg, so if your flight is on one of the newer A321 aircraft with this upgraded cabin, that makes the deal considerably more exciting.
Would I book it? For around $1,000 one-way from Singapore to Europe in business class, yes, especially if the aircraft checks out and the schedule works.
This is also a perfect example of why I love mixing cash and points. You could book the Singapore to Europe leg on Saudia for around $1,000 in cash, then use points for the Europe to Asia return. That gives you more flexibility than depending on award space in both directions. I have an Asia trip coming at the end of the year, and I did exactly that. The outbound leg was booked with cash, and the return was booked on points.
Final thought
The takeaway today is simple.
Buy points on these sales if you found a redemption that works for you.
And do not ignore cash fares just because you love points. A $1,000 business class fare from Asia to Europe can be just as useful as an award ticket, especially when it helps you build the rest of the trip more easily.
That's it for today. More deals, news, and trip reviews coming your way on Monday. Enjoy your weekend!
Catch you in the clouds,
Tomi from Points Master
