Hey {{first name | reader}},
Coffee’s on, tabs are open, and we’ve got a tidy trio for your Friday scroll. Here’s what’s inside:
• Hilton Honors points are on sale (100% bonus)
• SWISS’s first Airbus A350s
• Fairmont Le Château Frontenac (Québec City)
Hilton Honors points are on sale (100% bonus)
The deal (quick take): Hilton is running a 100% bonus when you buy 5,000+ points through November 21, 2025, which drops your cost to $0.005 per point (0.5¢). Annual purchase cap for this promo: up to 320,000 total points, including bonus (normally 160k base). I value Hilton points around ~0.5¢, so this can be good if you redeem smart, especially with Fifth Night Free.
Key perks that make buying work:
Fifth Night Free on standard room rewards for elites (you’re Silver with any Hilton Amex). Book 5 nights with points, pay for 4.
No resort fees on all-points stays and on free-night certs. That’s real cash saved at resorts.

Hilton Maldives Amingiri
fWhen buying points makes sense (post-devaluation reality)
Hilton raised caps on some “standard” awards in 2025, first to 200k and, at a few crown-jewel resorts, up to 250k points per night. That means the old 110k–150k framing no longer fits many aspirational properties.
Some redemption examples (with Fifth Night Free):
Conrad Bora Bora Nui: Standard awards are widely reported at 200,000 pts on many dates. At the sale price (0.5¢/pt), that’s ~$1000/nt or. Cash often runs $1,600+, so points can win big.
Conrad Tokyo: Typical 130,000 pts standard nights (date dependent). Buying at 0.5¢ yields ~$650/nt. Great for city breaks where cash rates swing.
Hilton Moorea Lagoon Resort & Spa: Standard awards often ~95,000 pts; that’s ~$475/nt (or ~$370 effective on a Fifth Night Free). Polynesian cash rates rarely play nice, so check calendars for standard availability.
Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi: Standard nights have been seen at 250,000 pts (previously 150k). At 0.5¢, that’s ~$1,250/nt before Fifth Night Free. Can still beat four-figure cash rates on select dates, but verify value.
Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal: Recent standard-award increased to 250,000 pts/nt. That’s ~$1,250/nt in “buy points” terms (≈ ~$1,000 effective on a 5-night stay). Only makes sense when cash is sky-high and you can leverage Fifth Night Free.

Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal
Always sanity-check like this (60 seconds):
Confirm it’s a Standard Room Reward (needed for Fifth Night Free).
Multiply points by $0.005 (sale cost).
Compare to cash rate + taxes + resort fees (awards don’t pay resort fees).
If points are ≤ 60–70% of cash (and it’s a 5-night stay), it’s usually a green light.
SWISS’s first Airbus A350s
SWISS is taking delivery of its first Airbus A350-900 with the full SWISS Senses interiors: First suites, Business suites with doors, refreshed Premium Economy, and upgraded Economy, and the airline has started loading the jet on short European familiarization flights before its long-haul debut. The first A350 arrives in October 2025; initial crew-training routes include Zurich–Prague plus select frequencies to Hannover, Düsseldorf, and Palma de Mallorca (watch for the “SWISS Senses” tag when you search). Long-haul launches to the US start in November 2025, with Boston (BOS) among the first scheduled destinations.

SWISS Senses Business Class
Cabin highlights: As you may remember from our previous Swiss Senses Post, the cabins include:
First Class: up to four enclosed suites, including a double “Suite Plus” in the center section. These suites have sliding doors, full-height walls, a wardrobe, climate controls, and a massive screen.
Business Class: 45 suites with doors, all with direct-aisle access and lie-flat beds; the top “Business Suite” variant adds more space and storage.
Layouts: A350s are slated to seat ~242 total: 3 First, 45 Business, 38 Premium Economy, 156 Economy.
Why this matters: In our earlier Senses post, we covered seat options, doors, and the softer touches (lighting, materials, temperature control). The A350 is the first aircraft to launch the full package at scale, and it’s the type replacing SWISS’s aging A340s, so this is the real-world rollout, not just renders.
How to try it sooner:
US: Boston is first up from November 2025; more North America should follow as frames arrive. If you’re date-flexible, target these routes for the highest odds of Senses on day one.

SWISS Senses First Class Double Suite
Booking notes: SWISS releases space variably, but you can price cash in Google Flights and compare awards via partners like Aeroplan, once availability appears. Given the demand for a brand-new hard product, saver awards will be uneven at launch, book cash if the fare is competitive, and use points for positioning or hotels.
Bottom line: If SWISS Senses Business with doors (and those new First suites) was on your wish list, the A350 is the way in, starting with short European hops and then Zurich–Boston from November 2025. We’ll keep tracking additional US routes as SWISS firms them up.
Fairmont Le Château Frontenac (Québec City)
I was doing some research when I stumbled upon this property and was amazed. And now I want to try it out. If you’ve ever dreamed of sleeping inside a castle, this is the blueprint. Fairmont Le Château Frontenac crowns Cap Diamant above the St. Lawrence River, all turrets and copper roofs in classic Châteauesque style. This icon at the heart of Old Québec is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Rooms look over stone ramparts, winding streets, and the river; you’re steps from Dufferin Terrace and the old city’s cafés and galleries.

Why it’s special (and not just for photos):
Historic hardware, modern polish. Behind the grand-lobby drama is a 2014 top-to-bottom refresh (guestrooms, expanded Fairmont Gold, lobby, banquet spaces, new restaurants, and spa). The hotel totals 610 rooms & suites, so you can choose between river panoramas, heritage nooks, and club-level perks.
Serious dining under one roof. The signature Champlain serves polished French-Québécois cuisine and is selected by the MICHELIN Guide; Bistro Le Sam brings a lighter, view-forward bistro menu; Bar 1608 is the fireside spot for cocktails and local cheeses.
Sense of place. From sunrise over the river to evening strolls along the boardwalk, the “urban resort” feel is real: you’re in the old city but cocooned in a landmark with pools, spa, and classic Fairmont service.

Who will love it: Couples after a fairytale city break, families who want a pool + easy sightseeing base, and history fans who geek out over grand railway hotels (this one dates to 1893).
Pro tip: Ask about Fairmont Gold for lounge breakfast and evening canapés, handy on winter escapes or busy summer weekends. (Availability varies by date; we’ll check for you.)
