Hey {{first name | reader}},

Happy Monday!

Let's do a proper Miles Monday today. New Flying Blue Promo Rewards, an Aeroplan devaluation that has now officially taken effect, and an interesting award space find on Vietnam Airlines for anyone planning travel between Southeast Asia and India.

Here's what's inside today's post:

  • Flying Blue's new monthly Promo Rewards

  • Aeroplan's devaluation is now live

  • Vietnam Airlines business class space to India

Flying Blue's new Promo Rewards are live

Panama City is one of this month’s Promo Rewards

We love Flying Blue Promo Rewards here, and the new ones are out.

Every month, Flying Blue releases a rotating list of discounted award tickets on Air France and KLM. Select routes get reduced pricing, usually up to 25% off the saver-level award rate.

The long haul routes currently listed are:

  • Air France business class between Europe and Panama City: from 63,750 miles one-way

  • Air France business class between Europe and Abidjan: from 63,750 miles one-way

  • Air France business class between Europe and Lome: from 63,750 miles one-way

The following are listed as exclusive to members of Flying Blue Extra, the program's paid membership tier.

  • Air France business class between Europe and Bogotá: from 63,750 miles one-way

  • Air France business class between Europe and St. Maarten: from 63,750 miles one-way

There are more routes available in economy and premium economy, but I'm focusing on Business Class here, as that's what we like.

Bogotá and Panama City are nice cities for anyone building a trip through Latin America or connecting onward. St. Maarten is more leisure-focused, but premium cabin cash fares to the Caribbean can be very painful, so this kind of pricing is worth knowing about.

Also worth remembering: Flying Blue pricing is dynamic. "Starting from 63,750 miles" does not mean every date prices that way. You still need saver-level space. But when it is available, these can be very solid redemptions.

Aeroplan's devaluation is now live

Air Canada 787

Now for the less fun part. Remember the Aeroplan devaluation we talked about a few weeks ago? Today is the day. Air Canada Aeroplan's new award pricing now applies to all tickets booked or reissued from June 1, 2026.

Aeroplan has changed pricing across several regions. Some awards have gone down slightly, but many of the more useful premium cabin awards have gone up. A few examples:

Business class between North America and the Atlantic covering 4,001 to 6,000 miles: up from 70,000 to 75,000 points. Business class covering 6,001 to 8,000 miles on that same corridor: up from 85,000 to 90,000 points. North America to Pacific business class covering 7,501 to 11,000 miles: up from 87,500 to 102,500 points.

That is a big jump.

Aeroplan has been one of the most rational and useful programs for years. Huge partner network, a published award chart, stopover rules that still work in your favor. Those features are still there.

This does not kill Aeroplan. But it does make it worse. And when a good program gets worse, it hurts more than when a mediocre one does.

I still think Aeroplan is one of the best Star Alliance programs and I still use it. But I would now compare more aggressively against other programs before booking.

Devaluations are part of the game. But the right response is not to panic. It is to use your points intentionally.

Vietnam Airlines business class space to India

I love Vietnam Airlines' livery. It is one of my favorites

Now for something useful and a little under the radar.

I am seeing nice Vietnam Airlines business class award availability between Vietnam and India, specifically on routes like Ho Chi Minh City to Delhi and Hanoi to Mumbai. These flights are operated wiht Airbus A350s and Boeing 787s.

Vietnam Airlines is not the flashiest airline in the world, but its wide-body business class is a proper lie-flat product with nice asian service. Very different from a short-haul recliner or a regional business class seat.

Vietnam Airlines Business Class

And the pricing through Flying Blue is very attractive. These flights cost between 22,500 and 28,000 miles one-way in business class, depending on the route.

You should also be able to book Vietnam Airlines space through Virgin Atlantic Flying Club. The amount of points required is a bit higher, around 35,000, but it can work if you have those points. As always, compare pricing, taxes, and availability before booking.

That's it for today. Flying Blue Promo Rewards are live, Aeroplan's devaluation is now officially in effect, and Vietnam Airlines has some interesting business class award space to India.

More deals, news, and trip ideas coming your way on Wednesday.

Catch you in the clouds,
