Hey {{first name | reader}},
Happy Monday!
Today is a special edition because the Qatar Airways Avios sale ends tomorrow.
Last week we talked about the current Qatar Airways Privilege Club promotion, which offers up to a 50% bonus on purchased Avios. At the top tier, buying 250,000 Avios gets you 375,000 total for $5,750, which works out to around $15.30 per 1,000 Avios.
That is not the cheapest way to acquire Avios. Inside Points Master, we teach ways to get Avios closer to $12 per 1,000, and that changes the math significantly. But if you have a specific redemption in mind and the space is available, buying through this sale can still make sense.
The key phrase is: specific redemption.
I would not buy Qatar Avios at this price without one. Saver space can disappear, pricing can jump to Flexi levels, and the value can fall apart quickly. So today I want to show four redemptions where I would at least seriously consider buying Avios.
Here's what's inside today's post:
Doha to Tokyo Narita in Qsuite
Madrid to Singapore with Qatar First Class included
Paris to Auckland for 90,000 Avios
Seattle to Seoul on Alaska
Doha to Tokyo Narita in Qsuite

This is a very clean one.
Route: Doha to Tokyo Narita Cabin: Business class Product: Qsuite with Starlink Wi-Fi Flight time: 10 hours 20 minutes Price: 60,000 Avios + 580 QAR in taxes
At the sale price of $15.30 per 1,000 Avios: 60,000 Avios = $918 Taxes = around $159 Total: around $1,077
At the Points Master benchmark of $12 per 1,000 Avios: 60,000 Avios = $720 Taxes = around $159 Total: around $879
For a 10-hour Qsuite flight to Japan, that is excellent value. This is exactly the type of redemption where buying Avios can make sense, as long as the space is available and you are ready to book immediately.
Madrid to Singapore, with Qatar First Class included

This one is fun because the mixed-cabin option can actually be more interesting than business class all the way.
Madrid to Singapore: Business class all the way: 143,000 Avios Mixed class: 112,500 Avios + €212 in taxes
The mixed-cabin itinerary includes Qatar First Class on the DOH-SIN leg, which is very cool
At the sale price: 112,500 Avios = $1,721 €212 taxes = around $246 Total: around $1,967
At $12 per 1,000 Avios: 112,500 Avios = $1,350 Taxes = around $246 Total: around $1,596
The reason I like this is not only the price. It is also the experience.
If the itinerary includes a Qatar First Class segment, you are able to access the Al Safwa First Lounge in Doha, which is one of the most impressive airport lounges in the world. It feels more like a quiet private museum than a normal lounge: huge spaces, proper dining, and an extremely calm atmosphere.
Qatar's A380 First Class is also a very enjoyable product. Not as private as Qsuite, but the seat is enormous, the service is more elevated, and it is a very fun and luxurious way to experience a true international first-class cabin.
Paris to Auckland for 90,000 Avios

This is the big one.
Route: Paris to Auckland Cabin: Business class Product: Qsuite Price: 90,000 Avios + around €448 in taxes
At the sale price: 90,000 Avios = $1,377 €448 taxes = around $520 Total: around $1,897
At $12 per 1,000 Avios: 90,000 Avios = $1,080 Taxes = around $520 Total: around $1,600
All of the readers from down under know how expensive it can get to fly to and from Europe. For business class all the way to New Zealand, $1,600 USD is very strong pricing.
One thing worth knowing: if you start in Madrid instead of Paris, you can save around €150 in taxes, which makes the math even better. If you are flexible within Europe, always compare departure cities before booking.
Seattle to Seoul on Alaska

This one is different because it is not a Qatar Airways flight at all.
It is an Alaska Airlines partner redemption bookable with Qatar Avios.
Route: Seattle to Seoul Cabin: Business class Flight time: 11 hours 55 minutes Price: 77,250 Avios plus taxes Seats: 6 seats showing
At the sale price: 77,250 Avios = around $1,182 plus taxes
At $12 per 1,000 Avios: 77,250 Avios = around $927 plus taxes
This is a good reminder that Qatar Avios are not only useful for Qatar flights. Partner redemptions can also be very interesting, especially when multiple seats are available on a nonstop long-haul route.
My take
Qatar Avios are one of the most valuable points currency out there, but you need to check that the availability is real and the math works.
I would not buy at this price just because there is a sale. I would buy only if I already found a specific award, checked the taxes, compared the cash price, and was ready to book.
At $15.30 per 1,000 Avios, the sale price can work for strong redemptions like Qsuite to Japan, Europe to Auckland, or a First Class connection through Doha. At $12 per 1,000 Avios, the math becomes much more attractive across the board.
Before buying anything, ask yourself these questions:
Do I have a real redemption in mind? Is the award space available? Are the taxes reasonable? Is the cash fare much higher? Would I be happy booking this exact trip today?
If the answer to all of those is yes, this sale is worth considering. If not, I would keep the money and wait for a better use.
More deals, news, and trip ideas coming your way on Wednesday.
Catch you in the clouds,
Tomi from Points Master
