Hey {{first name | reader}},

Happy Wednesday! Halfway through the week. Quick midweek update with three time-sensitive points opportunities, plus a hotel promo we like booking for clients.

Here's what's inside today's post:

  • Buying hotel points: Hyatt + Choice (when it makes sense)

  • Chase → Virgin Atlantic transfer bonus (verify availability first)

  • Hotel deal spotlight: Six Senses Yao Noi

Buying hotel points: Hyatt + Choice (when it makes sense)

Two promos worth knowing about right now.

World of Hyatt is running a points sale Feb 17– Apr 7, 2026, and at the top end the effective cost lands around 20.8 USD per 1000 points.

Choice Privileges is also running a points promo Feb 16 – Mar 15, 2026 with up to a 30% discount, which can bring the effective cost to roughly 7.2 USD per 1000 point at the top end.

Different programs, different "right use case."

Here's the simple way to evaluate both:

Treat hotel points purchases like a specific booking tool, not a general investment.

  1. First, pick the hotel and dates you actually want.

  2. Then compare the all-in cash price to the points price.

  3. If the value you're getting per point is clearly higher than what you're paying to buy them, it can be worth it—especially for peak dates, expensive cities, or last-minute stays where cash rates are inflated.

For Hyatt: This can be a good opportunity, especially for luxury properties.

For Choice: This price is not the best we have seen, but it can still work for some redemptions, compared to the cash prices.

Chase → Virgin Atlantic transfer bonus (verify availability first)

If you have Chase Ultimate Rewards Points, there's currently a 40% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic Flying Club running Feb 14 – Feb 28, 2026.

Virgin Atlantic Upper Class

A bonus that size can materially change what's bookable because you need fewer Chase points to reach a Virgin award price.

The only trap is transferring without a real plan.

Before you move points:

  • Confirm award space for the exact itinerary you want

  • Check the taxes/fees (Virgin can be great, but some routes get expensive)

  • Assume the transfer is one-way

Remember: Credit Card points are more valuable than airline points since they offer much more flexibility, so keep that in mind before making any transfers as you cannot go back.

If the space is there and the fees are reasonable, this can be a strong way to unlock premium cabins for fewer transferable points.

Hotel deal spotlight: Six Senses Yao Noi

I love speaking about the hotels we book the most, because when people keep asking for them, usually means they are great. Six Senses Yao Noi is one of them. It is set in the middle of Phang Nga Bay —the dramatic landscape between Phuket and Krabi. It's the type of place people book when they want a true reset: quiet, private, and visually unreal in the best way, especially when the light hits the bay in the morning and late afternoon.

Six Senses Yao Noi

Why this property works:

The experience is built around space and privacy. Most stays here feel villa-first, with a strong emphasis on wellness and downtime, and service that's attentive without being in your face. If you're the kind of traveler who wants to wake up, take it slow, and have the resort "do the work" of making the days feel good, this is one of the best matches in Thailand. I personally love Six Senses vibe. I already told you about my experience with them in Rajasthan, India. It was superb.

Why we're flagging it now:

There's a complimentary-night offer tied to consecutive-night stays (availability depends on the specific rate/rate rules), and when it lines up for your dates it can create real value on a property that already feels "worth the trip" on its own.

If you want us to price this hotel or any other and confirm whether there are complimentary-night promos available for your stay, reply the form below!

That's it for today. More deals and strategies coming your way on Friday.

Catch you in the clouds,

Tomi
